Protected/Unprotected (Battery)Updated 2 years ago

This is another term which, by definition, can alter depending on the manufacturer. The protection circuits on a battery can differ, but usually are in place to prevent you from over-charging or over-discharging your battery. In some instances the protected status could also mean it has over-current protection. Unprotected options still do inhibit essential safety measures. In some instances an unprotected battery can be a hybrid that does not use a protection circuit. Options such as an unprotected ICR batteries should not be used in devices as it is meant for less demanding applications. It would be heavily suggested to stick with batteries that are provided by the manufacturer or as advised by a vape professional.
